The Apple Pencil 2nd Gen attaches magnetically to the side of a compatible iPad, where it pairs and charges without a cable or a connector.

Magnetic charging

This is the practical difference from the 1st generation. A refurbished Apple Pencil 2nd Gen snaps to the edge of the iPad, pairs automatically and charges while it sits there, so it is always ready and never protruding from a port.

How it writes

Pressure sensitivity varies line weight as you press, and tilt sensitivity lets you shade with the side of the tip. Double tap the flat edge to switch between your current tool and the eraser without reaching for a menu.

Compatibility

Works with iPad Pro 11 inch 1st to 4th generation, iPad Pro 12.9 inch 3rd to 6th generation, iPad Air 4th and 5th generation, and iPad Mini 6th generation. It is not compatible with the standard iPad models that take the 1st generation Pencil.
